7 Tips on How to be More Humble in Life
There is a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson, “A great man is always willing to be little.” There is nothing wrong in being a small person with a great heart. The problem arises when your achievements fill a lot of air in your head. Here are 7 tips on how to be more humble in life.
1. You may not be better than the best
You might be really skilled at something but it does not mean that you’re unbeatable. It’s always possible that there is someone out there who is better than you. This thought will always help you be more humble in life.
2. Nobody is perfect
When you point faults and accuse other people, don’t forget that in future you could make the same mistake. It’s OK when other people make mistakes. You need to be able to forgive them and show some humility.
3. Understand your faults and misgivings
As a human being you need to be aware of your faults and misgivings. You need to know that you are not unsurpassed. It’s OK to not be perfect and accept your weaknesses. A better self awareness will help you be more humble in life.
4. Appreciate the little things in life
Being proud of yourself to certain extent is a positive approach to life. But you need to acknowledge the little things so that you realize how lucky you are. How poor kids fight over food? Or how there are certain places facing scarcity of water? Being humble will make you appreciate the little things in life.
5. Don’t take people around you for granted
You feel that you can accomplish everything on your own. You treat people around you with disrespect and don’t show any care or affection thinking that they are bound to you. Learning a lesson in humility also includes valuing people around you.
6. Don’t brag too much
If you have achieved something important in life there is no need to brag. It does not make you invincible. You need to keep in mind that in future it might not happen for you and someone else could take your place.
7. You may not always be destiny’s child
A lot of what you have and enjoy in life falls in your lap because you were destined to earn it. But it may always not be the case. The fate can be anyone’s friend anytime it wants.
